Linebacker Darron Lee (No. 43) took a fumble 61 yards for a touchdown to help Ohio State pull away from Navy in at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. The Buckeyes switched to Nike’s Mach Speed template and donned a helmet sticker to commemorate their 125th season of football.

Apple’s fourth-quarter interception set up a game-tying touchdown, but Virginia Tech shocked Ohio State with a pair of late scores – including a pick-six with just 46 seconds remaining – and handed head coach Urban Meyer his first regular-season loss in Columbus.

Third-string quarterback Cardale Jones (No. 12) threw for 257 yards and three touchdowns in his first-career start, and Ohio State secured a spot in the inaugural College Football Playoff with an unexpected rout of Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship. The Buckeyes wore a helmet decal for defensive linemen Kosta Karageorge (No. 53), who tragically took his life one week prior.

Running back Ezekiel Elliott (No. 15) rushed for 230 yards – 85 of which came through the heart of the South – to lead Ohio State to an upset win over top-ranked Alabama in the College Football Playoff semifinal. Both teams wore special Nike Diamond Quest uniforms, with the Buckeyes giving a nod to their 1968 national championship team, and a playoff trophy decal on their helmets.

Elliott continued his late-season tear with 246 yards and four touchdowns in Ohio State’s national championship win over Oregon. The Buckeyes wore the home version of their Diamond Quest alternate uniforms despite being the lower-ranked team.
